Psalms 61:2

It's Thursday, that means time for a Twisted Thursday Challenge and the twist is ...... Anything Goes!  Yep, no excuse not to play this week; we want to see whatever is in your workspace!

I have wanted to Bible Journal for a while now, but I find issues and don't plunge into this venture.  I don't have a journaling Bible or the supplies to do it.  I don't want to ruin a Bible.  I might have multiple ideas for one page...then what?  Oh, the reasons just go on and on.

After some thought, watching videos, searching Pinterest, etc,  I decided not to Bible Journal. Instead, I decided to Faith Journal in a handsome little journal I picked up at Hobby Lobby.

For me, this is a great solution for my "issues."
*  I can concentrate on any passage I choose to study and art journal it.  Then if after some thought, I have another idea, I can express it later in the same journal.
*  I can use my personal Bible for study and simply write, print and paste, etc the scriptures I want to highlight into the journal.
*  I can use the supplies I already have in my house.
*  ......and I can use all of the beautiful digital images out there, like Lift Me Higher from MHK!

This image and scripture are both from the Lift Me Higher Set.  I printed the scripture onto a scroll in Cricut Design Space and used the print and cut feature.  I rolled the sides of the scroll and inked them.  I inked the page, stamped a background, and hand-wrote in the beginning of scripture.

The left side of the journal is the image I used on a card a few weeks ago.  (I love this image!)  I inked the page and then stamped in the lines using Versa Mark ink.  I heat embossed with gold powder.  I added a strip of frayed burlap that sticks out when the page is closed ~ sort of a permanent book mark for me since I love this verse.

So far, this avenue of journaling my faith is perfect.  I can include hymns, poetry, philosophy, and other literature that touches me.  I have several ideas and you'll be seeing more in this book.

Thanks for dropping by today.  It's always great to have company!  Please feel free to peruse other pages/posts or view some of my videos at my YouTube Channel.  Be sure to check out what the Design Team has to share over at Twisted Thursday......remember, the twist is Anything Goes!

Surprise!

It's Thursday, and that means it's time for a challenge over at Twisted Thursday at The Outlawz!  Our twist this week is Surprise Us!  I decided to use Pumpkin Jack from MHK Designs to decorate this bag which definitely surprised the judge at our Pumpkin Patch Fall Classic a couple of weekends ago!
I love making bags and this one was no exception!  I cut the bag and stamped the chevron pattern with Versa Mark ink.  I heat embossed with white embossing powder and assembled the bag.  I cut the pumpkin and the sentiment on my Cricut and adhered them to the bag along with a spider web border also cut in Design Space.

So, what was the surprise in the bag?  This MUG filled with cocoa packets and a gift card.

Material List:
Pumpkin Jack Set from MHK Designs
Copic Markers
SVG Cuts:  Bag Cut
CTMH Cardstock/Paper:  Urban, Sunset, Slate
CTMH Cartridge:  Artiste (Spider Web Border)

Ecclesiastes and the Harvest

We are midway through the month over at Path of Positivity and we are celebrating Friendship as our theme.  I decided in my first post to share the wonderful attributes my friends have and how those traits make them such wonderful friends for me!

In this post, I'm going to take a little different direction.  When I saw this lovely digi from Sparkle N Sprinkle called Welcome Autumn, I immediately thought about Autumn harvest time here in the Mid-west.  (Try to stay with me on this meandering thought process....)  Now, for some reason that made me think of an episode of Little House on the Prairie called A Harvest of Friends.  This particular episode was about how Charles had made so many wonderful friends who all came to help in his time of need.  Anyway, that reminded me of the following verse:

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12  (KJV)
9  Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow:  but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

When I looked back at this lovely digi with the cats birds, butterfly and mouse all together, I thought about what unlikely friends they would be.  Yet, here they are all together with the harvest.  It all seemed to make for a great fall entry in my faith journal.

Again, my journey travelled a twisty path to get to a conclusion, but it did get there!

Pumpkins

It's that time of year for us over at PATCH by Design!  We had our Pumpkin PATCH Fall Classic.  It was great!  The kids, parents and team all had a super time with the horses.  I'm so lucky because this event gives me the chance to show off what the kids have learned, spend time with horses, AND CRAFT!  If you would like to learn more about PATCH by Design and see some pics from our show, click HERE.

I make many of the gifts, decorations and the programs!  Since the theme of my show is Pumpkin PATCH, I get to use my program in the Cut It Up Challenge.  Pumpkins are the theme this time!

I created this by welding, slicing, dicing, julienning......... ok, not really julienning!  I combined the Grass Border from CTMH Artbooking, Jack O'Lantern Cutouts from CTMH Artiste, the Pumpkin from CTMH Artistry, and some basic shapes in Design Space.  The horse image is from Old West.

I'm sure you've got some great dies to go along with your pumpkin stamps or you have tons of great pumpkin dies to choose.  However you decide, as long as your project includes a pumpkin and a die cut!  No need to hang out waiting for the Great Pumpkin when you can create one yourself!

My program is off to:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge:  Pumpkins

The Craftin Desert Divas are sponsoring this challenge!   We can't wait to see your pumpkin creations.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Feel free to hang out and peruse other pages/posts or pop over to my YouTube Channel.

Pumpkin Floral

It's Thursday and you know what that means!  Time for a Twisted Thursday Challenge over at the Outlawz!  This week's optional twist in the challenge is all about sparkle or bling!

We are sponsored by MHK Designs this month and I found this great pumpkin and poem in the Pumpkin Jack Digital Stamp Set.

I decided to do something a little different and create a fall themed vase for our banquet table at the Pumpkin PATCH Fall Classic.  (To learn more about that you can go HERE.)

I started by up-cycling a container for baby snacks!  I covered it in purple felt and tied a scrap of lace around it.  I tied an orange grosgrain ribbon into a bow and adhered it with a glue gun.  I cut the tags from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge where I used the Print and Cut feature for the poem.  I inked the pumpkin with Sunset Ink and colored the eyes, nose and mouth with a Copic-Y17.  Then I painted Glass Bead Glitter Gel by Faber Castell over the Copic.  This adds a lot of sparkle!

I blinged out the tag with some gems from BoBunny after inking the edges with CTMH Gypsy ink.   At the banquet I put real flowers in the vase, but for photo purposed I used the artificial ones I had on hand.

My vase is off to the following challenges:
MHK Challenge
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge:  Pumpkins
TTCRD:  AG
613 Avenue Create:  Optional Twist Green and Gold--I skipped the twist on this one.

Thanks for dropping by today!  Feel free to hang out and peruse other pages/posts or pop over to my YouTube Channel.

Friends Enlighten Us!

When it comes to friendship, there are traits that really make me light up!  I truly like a friend who makes me think and inspires new ideas.  I want friends who brighten my world and bring out my light.  Of course, my friends have to be ready for a plan that seems crazy to everyone else.....and they have to be ok with getting messy and tangled up!

I'm so blessed to have friends who are bright, helpful, kind, and .......fun!

Over at Path of Positivity we are talking about friendship this month!  What is more fun than talking about our crazy cohorts, our amigos, best buds, pals, comrades, etc?

Ok, so how about you?  What do you look for in a friend?  How do you define friendship?  Tell us, or show us, what you think about friendship in a card, scrapbook page, poem, song, art journal page, etc!  We'd love to see your ideas.

Trio of Stamping for World Card Making Day!

So, today was World Card Making Day!  I thought every day was card making day ~~ unless of course, it's scrapbooking day, or art journaling day, or some other crafty day!

Here's a trio of cards I've put together to teach a stamp masking class this month.  All supplies are from CTMH, but I'm afraid the stamps are all retired since they were stamps of the month.  No fear, there are still lots of great stamps at CTMH......just not these.

I'm sending my trio off to:
Between the Folds:  Creative Stamping Techniques

You can check out all the goodies available at ScrappyHorses.ctmh.com!  Want to see some videos, check out my YouTube Channel.

Thanks for stopping by and remember.....everyday is a good day to make a card, or scrap, or journal, or stamp, or.....well, you get the idea!  ;)
